Robertson eases Scotland injury fears
Liverpool full-back confident he will be fit for Euro 2024
Scotland captain Andy Robertson believes he will be fit for Euro 2024 despite suffering a shoulder injury in Liverpool's pre-season friendly against Athletic Bilbao.
Robertson was forced off in the first half of the match after a heavy challenge, and there were fears that he could be ruled out of the tournament. However, the left-back has since undergone a scan, and the results have shown that the injury is not as serious as first thought. Robertson will now miss Liverpool's next two pre-season matches, but he is expected to be back in training next week. The 28-year-old is a key player for Scotland, and his absence would have been a major blow to Steve Clarke's team. Scotland have been drawn in Group E for Euro 2024, alongside Spain, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic. Robertson will be hoping to lead Scotland to their first major tournament since the 1998 World Cup.
