A Promising Start, a Disappointing Finish
The 2019-20 season marked the 74th year of the Boston Celtics franchise in the NBA. Coming off a disappointing 49-33 finish and a 4th place finish in the Eastern Conference the previous season, the Celtics entered the season with high hopes. With Kyrie Irving and Al Horford leaving in free agency and the return of Kemba Walker, many expected the Celtics to make another deep playoff run.The Celtics started the season strong, going 18-5 in their first 23 games. However, injuries began to take their toll, and the team struggled to maintain their early success. They finished the regular season with a 48-24 record, good for 3rd place in the Eastern Conference.
