The Boston Celtics extended their lead in the NBA Finals to 3-2 with a 106-88 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5. Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 29 points, 10 assists, and a season-high 14 rebounds. It was Tatum's first triple-double of the season and the first by a Celtics player in the NBA Finals since Larry Bird in 1987.
The Celtics improved to 47-12 on the season with the win, while the Mavericks fell to 34-26. Game 6 of the series is scheduled for Thursday night in Boston.
